WHO ARE WE?

QVI is a charitable organisation officially registered in Austria under number 941207965 (ZVR). Its development takes place on the basis of cooperative partnership.

WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Personal Information covers any data that enables us to identify you as an individual. This information could include your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

The information we collect from you depends on the kind of interaction we have and how you use this website.

The information you give us will be used to keep you informed of Quo Vadis Institute´s updates, research, articles, upcoming events and to bring you in contact with others of the QVI family and friends.

WE SAVE PERSONAL INFORMATION THROUGH:

  • Newsletter subscriptions (via personal contact, no general online subscription, as it is a ‘private’ list with sensitive content)
  • Contact forms (registration for events, general contact)

When you supply information such as your name or email address (and anything else) to us, we are legally obliged by Data Protection Regulations to ensure that we only use this information for the purpose for which it was given, and to ensure that it is kept secure.

We may carry out analysis of the personal information we collect about you and add publicly available information to create a profile of your interests so we can contact you in the most appropriate way and with the most relevant information.

SUBSCRIBERS TO QUO VADIS INSTITUTE E-NEWSLETTER COMMUNICATIONS

We use your first and last name to address you properly and your email address to keep you updated with our work in accordance with your email preferences. These information is at least needed for a subscription.

You can choose to sign up to any or all of the following options:

  • Regular e-Newsletter (an update of latest trips, research, articles and events – about six times a year)
  • Article alerts

You can change or delete your personal data like name and emailadress, as well as the way we communicate with you by amending your email preferences via the ‘Preferences’ link at the bottom of each email. You can unsubscribe by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of each email.

CONTACT FORM FOR NETWORKING OR EVENT-REGISTRATION:

Furthermore we save some information to be able to fulfill our purpose to connect you with other people of your guild or cross-disciplinary, keep an overview of our networks and register you to one of our events. This information will never be published or forwarded without your personal permission! We will always change or delete the information, once requested by you.

DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

The Quo Vadis Institute never shares your details outside the Quo Vadis family, except where it is necessary to perform functions on our behalf, such as: fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and email. We use MailChimp to send our email updates, and send direct and reminder emails to those who have registered (via our website forms) for events or are in personal contact with us. Your information will not be passed to third parties for marketing purposes.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We only keep your information for as long as we need to. When we no longer need it, we will delete it.

We will never share it with others, unless you give us permission.

YOUR RIGHTS

  • ‘Right to be informed’ means we will be completely clear and transparent about how we plan to use your personal information.
  • ‘Right of access’ means you can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and we will provide it within one month.
  • ‘Right to rectification’ means you can ask us to update or amend the information we hold about you, if it is incorrect.
  • ‘Right to restrict processing’ means you can ask us to change, restrict or stop the way we are using your information.
  • ‘Right to erasure’ (or right to be forgotten) means you can ask us to remove your personal information from our records.
  • ‘Right to object’ means you can object to us using your information for marketing purposes.
  • ‘Right to lodge a complaint with a controlling authority’ (such as ‘Datenschutzbehörde’ in Austria) if you feel we are processing your data incorrectly or your privacy rights are damaged in any way.

REQUESTS WILL BE PROCESSED WITHIN THE LEGAL DEADLINE OF ONE MONTH.

If we need more time to process your request due to the high quantity or complexity of requests, we contact you to notify you of the delay. In such cases we will endeavour to process your request within three months, following which we will advise you of the action we have taken.
