2025: Start of OIKOS in Poland
Introduction
The OIKOS Programme provides a foundational understanding of the roofs of Public Engagement. We create space for conversation, fellowship, and hopefully friendship.
The programme will run over the course of twelve months and will include a total of five meeting-points: three weekends and two online meetings.
Each weekend, we will discuss one building block for Public Engagement. This will include Biblical/Theological discussions and each weekend build up to questions of application and the connection between theory and practise. So, over the three weekends, our discussions will flow naturally from questions about God to our work. Between weekends, we will have a touch base moment online and discuss a text, led by an academic from the Quo Vadis Institute. The attendees are obligated to attend all five sessions.
Vision
We aim to inform and empower Christian thinkers in their professional pursuit in the public sphere. We do this by offering three things:
- Continuity – of their learning and shaping of their thinking,
- Community – in people who are fellow-travellers, aiming to give shape to their calling, and
- Communion – in the communal act of worshipping God through work.
