The Guilds are self-sustaining networks of professionals who seek to advance the thinking and practice of their respective fields.

The Arts Guild focuses on understanding and promoting the place of the arts, both as a means to enhance human flourishing and as a way to access and convey meaning. Since artists have the capacity to actively (trans)form society through their various artistic contributions, the Guild aims to inspire and support them in their task. This is done in the environments of the Church, Academia, and the contemporary culture of the public marketplace. We are part of the Arts+ Europe Network (www.artsplus.info).

Some of the questions the Guild asks are:

  • How can artists be encouraged to make their unique contribution to our understanding of life, culture, and faith?
  • How do artists pursue the good, the true, and the beautiful according to a Biblical perspective?
  • What does it mean to be human and how can artists provide a window into this question and the complex dynamics of human society?
